This is technical article on storage for Editors.  I always say it is not a matter of “if” a drive will fail it is “when.”  Remember these are all machines with moving parts.  Even SSD have a lifespan.  If you are getting paid to create something for a client, I believe you have a responsibility to safeguard that data while it is in your hands.  Both in terms of privacy and redundancy.
